What the Signs Say

Four old ways of reading a person: by temperament, by number, by the animal of the year, by the sky at birth. Read your own, then the ones you live with.

The sixteen types

Four pairs of leanings make sixteen temperaments. Each leads with one way of meeting the world and is weakest in its opposite.

The numbers

A birth date adds up to a number from one to nine, or to a master number. It names the road, not the traveller.

The twelve animals

Each Chinese year belongs to an animal. Each animal has one opposite, one secret friend and a group of three.

The Vedic signs

The twelve signs as Indian astrology counts them, against the fixed stars. Read yours as ascendant if you know it, as Sun sign if you do not.

What today holds, by these same signs: Almanac

A tradition to think with. It describes leanings, not fates, and it is no advice on health, money or law.
